We would love to be a part of your journey but we know taking the first steps in the interview process can be harder than it should be. We want you to succeed and this is your ultimate cheat sheet. By providing you with transparency about the process and what you will expect along the way we aspire to make the experience as stress-free as possible. We have outlined our expectations and provided some helpful information for you to succeed every step of the way.

Your resume

It’s all too common in this day and age to send through a copy of your resume knowing that it may never see a human being.

Whilst we use the very best online recruitment software, rest assured we know that human touch is paramount to finding the right people.

Our recruitment team oversees the resume parsing process to ensure no information is overlooked or any techy issues occur; every single resume is seen and vetted by one of our experts.

That being said, we have some handy tips that may help you stand out in the sea of job seekers when reaching out to us for that perfect job:

  • Make sure your contact information including email and phone number are up to date on your resume regardless of the channel you apply through.
  • Use reverse chronological order when highlighting your experience. You should start with the most recent employment and work your way back to no more than 15 years.
  • Keep the structure and layout very clear and easy to read. We love to see personality shine in a resume but if the font is too small or unprofessional, you may not make the impression you were hoping for.
  • Submit your resume in a format that doesn’t allow for any editing. Otherwise, you will have spent hours crafting your masterpiece just to allow a job seeker platform to change the format and all of your hard work.
  • Finally, at Liveware Labs we don’t require a stuffy cover letter. We will take the time throughout the interview process to understand what sets you apart, makes you tick and why you will be perfect for the role and our company.

Preparation is key

Your nerves may settle (a little) if you go into the interview armed with information. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with our culture by spending time on our website and visiting our LinkedIn profile. 

Take some time to prepare how you’d like to introduce yourself but remember we want to get to know your best self, so be natural. There is no need to start with the personal details we can read on your resume, but we would love to know about your previous experiences and how they relate to the role you’re applying for.

A little research goes a long way, so take a look at relevant interview questions that would relate to your role and think about how you would answer them with specific examples.   

The world has changed and face to face interviews aren’t always possible but when connecting with one of our talent experts remotely, don’t read off your resume or a written script thinking they won’t notice. Instead, let your personality shine through and showcase your confidence! 

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. We encourage fact-finding so prepare your questions in advance and ask away! 

Later on in the process, you may be asked back for another interview with the client. Remember, you will be interviewing for a position where you’ll be offering your services to this client. We suggest that you do your homework and understand what their business is all about.

The Interview Process

Our interview process is quite simple but keep an eye on your emails as most of the communication is done via this channel. 

We know life can be hectic, so we make things simple with a two interview process! 

Once you are selected, we will send you an email allowing you the flexibility to schedule an initial interview at a time that suits you! Simply click on the link in the email, and choose an available slot in our recruitment calendar. 

Your first interview will be with a friendly Liveware Labs recruitment expert who will take the time to hear your story and understand not only what you can bring, but what you are looking for from an employer as well. We know this is a two-way street.

After impressing us with your super resume, awesome skills and the right attitude we will organise a second interview for you directly with the client. These interviews are generally between 20 – 40 minutes long and are the final stage of the interview process. 

We know that circumstances change, so if you decide the role is no longer for you, cancel the interview yourself in the calendar. It’s as simple as that!

Generally speaking, the first interview takes between 30 – 45 minutes and the interview with the client takes between 20 – 40 minutes. But of course, each position is different and may require extra time so you can really highlight your experience and skills.
